There is great interest in the events and consequences of the disasters of the First and Second World Wars and in visiting historical sites.

On this walk through fascinating countryside you will encounter a turbulent past that was all too often a source of division in the first half of the 20th century.

Landmarks, bunkers and memorial stones bear witness to this. On the other hand, there is evidence of the cultural and human connections that have always shaped the country and its people across national boundaries.

There are 30 explanatory panels along the 94 km circular hiking trail (4 stages recommended), which is signposted in both directions.
